Pendidikan Karakter Dalam Hadits Nabi: Kajian Tentang Nilai dan Tahapan Pembentukan Karakter Anak

Abstract

Character education has become an important issue in the field of education due to the emergence of various ethical, moral, and personality problems in society. Education that focuses only on intellectual abilities without being balanced with moral, emotional, and spiritual development may produce individuals who possess academic competence but lack honesty, empathy, tolerance, and integrity. From an Islamic perspective, character development is closely related to the cultivation of noble morals, one of the main sources of which is the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. This study aims to analyze and describe character education from the perspective of hadith and the stages of children's character development based on Islamic teachings. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using library research. Data were obtained from books, hadith literature, journals, and other relevant sources, which were analyzed through content analysis and presented descriptively and narratively. The results show that character education is a planned effort to instill behavioral values concerning human relationships with Allah SWT, oneself, others, the environment, and the nation. Character education from the perspective of hadith emphasizes the importance of exemplary behavior, habituation of noble morals, and the gradual cultivation of values according to children's developmental stages. These stages include tauhid at the age of 0-2 years, manners at 5-6 years, responsibility at 7-8 years, caring at 9-10 years, independence at 11-12 years, and social life at the age of 13 years.
