Abstract

In the context of Islamic education, the existence of professional teachers is a fundamental factor in creating a meaningful and transformational learning process. The background of this research is based on the urgency of strengthening the character of professional teachers who are not only academically competent, but also have strong moral and spiritual integrity. This study aims to examine the characteristics of professional teachers in the perspective of Islamic education with a thematic tafsir approach to Surah Hud verse 88. The method used is qualitative with a literature approach and thematic analysis (maudhu'i) of relevant Qur'anic verses, with the main focus on QS. Hud: 88. The results show that the verse contains essential principles for professional teachers, including sincerity in teaching, moral responsibility, commitment to the value of truth, and exemplary behavior. These values reflect the ethical and spiritual character that teachers in Islamic education should possess. This finding enriches the discourse on teacher professionalism by placing the Qur'an as a normative foundation in shaping the holistic character of educators.
